After months of speculation and rumors, it was finally revealed over the weekend that McKinley High’s seniors - including Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Corey Monteith - will be returning to the airwaves on ‘Glee’ for a fourth season. Damian McGinty, who is currently playing Irish exchange student Rory Flanagan on the show, tweeted his approval of the good news yesterday.
McGinty (@DamianMcGinty) tweeted saying, “And I'm so happy to hear about glee for next year. The cast is impossible to replace. Each and every single person is so talented.”
McGinty, however, kept mum about whether or not he’ll be joining his new cast mates in the fourth season. As co-champion of ‘The Glee Project,’ McGinty was awarded a seven episode arc on the FOX hit television show for this season. McGinty’s character was well received and so his contract was extended, though for how long no one’s sure.

The inclusion of the graduated seniors for next season has consequently squashed rumors of a ‘Glee’ spinoff. Teasing at season four, E! Online reports that Lea Michele had this to say after speaking with series creator Ryan Murphy - “He told me his plan and I will tell you it's incredibly groundbreaking and it's revolutionary for television, the way he's figured out how to use these graduated high school characters on this TV show.”
E! Online has reported that another recurring character from this season, Grant Gustin, has been granted a prized regular role for the upcoming fourth season. However, an insider told E! that “we are not finalizing any season four regulars until May.” Guess we’ll have to wait until then to see if Damian makes the cut for next year!
