An Irish Television production company is currently in pre-production with 'The Irish of 9/11,' a new documentary film that will examine the lives of Irish people who lost friends and family in the attack on New York City.

The new Irish documentary will begin shooting at the end of May and will feature archive footage and interviews with friends and families of the Irish victims of the attack.

The documentary will be directed by Maurice Sweeney and produced by James D’Alton and Anne McLoughlin and will feature extensive interviews with the friends and families of Irish families affected by the September 11 attacks in New York.

The documentary has received 80,000 euro from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland's Sound and Vision fund as well as additional funding from TV3, the broadcasting network. the finished documentary is set to broadcast as part of TV3’s autumn line-up.
