US billionaire Donald Trump reprimanded veteran Irish broadcaster Sean O’Rourke for questioning him about his hair live on the radio.

Introducing Trump on his Radio One radio show O’Rourke listed his personal and business achievements and then commented “and people make a lot of jokes about his hair.” He went on to immediately question Trump about how often people comment on his hair.

Trump remained calm throughout the interview, but following the show, while taking photographs outside the Doonbeg golf resort, he pulled O’Rourke aside.

The Irish Independent source said Trump was so annoyed when his interview was finished that he tried to barge his way back into the studio when the show was still live. However, following the show Trump stormed up to O’Rourke who was having his photo taken at the resort.

The source said “Sean and his team were getting a photograph taken on the steps outside Doonbeg afterwards and someone called over to Donald to ask him to join them,” a source said.

“Instead, he just marched over with about 10 people from his entourage and started giving out in front of everybody.

“He was unhappy about Sean's line of questioning and the robust tone of the interview."

“He said, 'Sean, do you think that was appropriate?’, and all Sean could do was say, Yes, of course – there is no such thing as a bad question.’

The source continued, “A lot of people started looking around at that point feeling awkward, and then Donald shouted, I thought you were a nice man’, before stomping off towards a helicopter. It was a really bizarre incident.”

An RTE spokesperson said, “Donald was not happy with Sean’s line of questioning, but it was Sean’s job to ask those hard questions and they are what everyone wanted to know.

“He knows he was asking what people wanted to know and he prepared well for the interview.

“When they met on the golf course afterwards, Donald said to him, 'Look, if I were you I would’ve done the same thing,’ and they left it at that, parting on good terms.”

Although often questioned about his hair, Trump seems to have a sense of humor about it, most of the time.

In a 2011 Rolling Stone interview he revealed the secrets of his unusual locks. He said “OK, what I do is, wash it with Head and Shoulders. I don't dry it, though. I let it dry by itself.

"It takes about an hour. Then I read papers and things. I also watch TV. I love Fox, I like 'Morning Joe,' I like that the 'Today Show' did a beautiful piece on me yesterday — I mean, relatively speaking."

He continued, “OK, so I've done all that. I then comb my hair. Yes, I do use a comb.

"Do I comb it forward? No, I don't comb it forward. I actually don't have a bad hairline. When you think about it, it's not bad. I mean, I get a lot of credit for comb-overs. But it's not really a comb-over. It's sort of a little bit forward and back. I've combed it the same way for years. Same thing, every time."
