Fundraiser for The Martin W. Richard Charitable Foundation

A night of great fun and entertainment will take place on Thursday, February 26, at the Florian Hall in Dorchester to benefit The Martin W. Richard Charitable Foundation.

The Foundation was formed by the parents of eight-year-old Martin Richard, who was killed in the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, 2013.

“The Foundation will be a legacy for Martin, allowing us to “pay it forward” and make a difference in ways that would make him proud but also a source of healing and purpose for us," stated the Richard Family.

This is the second year of the fundraiser and guests can expect an evening of live Irish music with performances by Irish dancers, a DJ and lots of raffles on the night.

Photographer Bill Brett to hold talk and book signing for his new book

Forbes House Museum will host a talk and book signing with Boston Globe photographer, Bill Brett, on Sunday, 22 March at 2pm.

Mr. Brett will promote his new book, Boston Irish: Photography by Bill Brett. The book signing will include informal tours of the Forbes House Museum with special focus on the mansions' connection to Boston Irish history. The museum will exhibit its Silver Slaver, a gift given to Captain Robert Bennet Forbes from the citizens of Cork, Ireland, in gratitude for his 1847 humanitarian voyage during the height of the Great Famine.
