Stunning colorized video brings Irish hero Michael Collins to life

You've never seen Michael Collins like this before! 

Michael Collins, the 'Big Fella,' is remembered for his bravery, impassioned oratory, and serious demeanor, as befits Ireland's beloved revolutionary hero who helped to shepherd the Irish people through the War of Independence and the Anglo-Irish treaty. 

A new video clip brought to technicolor life lets you see Collins like you've never seen him before. 

This is the work of Matt Loughrey, an Irish photographer from Co. Mayo who runs a breathtaking photo project titled ‘My Colorful Past,’ for which he takes iconic images from the past and brings them to life in vivid color.

Talking about the video, Loughrey told IrishCentral "This is about showing people what's 'round the corner for realizing modern Irish history. I think the importance of that is beyond the person that creates it, I tell myself that if a younger generation sees this work it will be hugely positive for them, it'll make them look more closely, it may convince them to study history more."
