Just weeks after his turn on the U.K.'s Live Earth stage, Damien Rice has announced plans for a two-week fall tour of the U.S. and Canada. According to the Ticketmaster site, the singer will kick off his run September 4 in Minneapolis, sweeping across the continent to complete the remainder of his 12-city outing.

The tour includes a September 5 Boston stop at the Bank of America Pavilion and a September 7 stop at the WaMu Theater inside Madison Square Garden.

This will be the first time fans will see Rice without longtime vocalist Lisa Hannigan. He made a statement last March that said "his professional relationship with Hannigan has run its creative course," and he'd asked her to leave his touring band.

Rice's group now consists of Joel Shearer (guitar), Vivienne Long (cello), Tom Osander (drums) and Shane Fitzsimmons (bass). Long, Osander and Fitzsimmons all appeared on Rice's most recent studio album, the double platinum selling 9.
