Emergency services are responding and an investigation has been launched after a small plane crashed in Co Waterford this afternoon, Thursday, November 20.
One person has been pronounced dead, The Irish Times has reported, while another three people, whose conditions are not known, have been taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford at Ardkeen.
In a statement to IrishCentral, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said: "Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a collision involving a light aircraft at a location near Tramore, Co. Waterford which occurred at approximately 12:50 pm this afternoon, Thursday 20th November 2025.
"As this is a live and ongoing operation, no further information is available at this time."
Ireland's Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) said it has been notified of an accident involving a twin-engined general aviation aircraft in the vicinity of Lisselan, Co Waterford, this afternoon.
The AAIU is deploying a team of four inspectors of air accidents to the accident site to commence an investigation.

Irish aviation journalist Shaun Dunne has been tracking the incident on social media.
According to Dunne, the aircraft was making an emergency landing at Waterford Airport after declaring an emergency over the southern Irish coast.
Waterford-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 117 was among the emergency services that responded to the incident.

Elsewhere, Flightradar24 has reported that the aircraft was traveling from Sligo Airport to Béziers Cap d’Agde Airport in France "but turned around approximately 50 kilometres off the southern coast of Ireland, heading back in the direction of Waterford Airport."
