Did you know that the Boss’ girl is the seventh-ranked showjumper in the U.S.?

Bruce Springsteen’s only daughter Jessica is an internationally renowned equestrian with high hopes of making it to the Summer Olympics in Tokyo next year, and she’s getting plenty of practice in with her four Irish teammates on the Miami Celtics team.

Jessica, 27, is the sole female on the squad, which also contains four Irish-born world-class riders.  The Celtics competed in the Global Champions League and finished third in the standings.

In an interview with The New York Times last week, Jessica praised her Irish mates.

“We really came together as a team toward the end — they’re so upbeat, positive and always making me laugh,” she said.

One of the four Irishmen, Shane Breen of Limerick, was effusive about her talents as an equestrian.

“I suppose the Americans have a great system when they start out their riders very young,” he told the Times.

“Jessica has that American flair, but she has adopted a lot of the European ways as well. She’s an all-around top-class rider — good eye, good feel and a great understanding of the horse.”

The Boss’ girl is the seventh-ranked showjumper in the U.S.  She’s competed in Ireland on many occasions in the past, with her proud folks – mom is Patti Scialfa – looking on from the stands.
