An Irishman is cycling from Dublin to Mount Olympus in Greece to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society and MS Ireland.

Maitiú Ó Coimín has started a GoFundMe page in the hopes of raising several thousand for the two charities.

According to his GoFundMe page, several hundred euro were stolen from him on the Welsh border with England.

“Once the funds stolen from me in England have been recuperated, I'll donate every cent to the Irish Cancer Society, in memory of my father who died from pancreatic cancer eight months ago, and to MS Ireland, in support of a very dear friend who is living quietly and courageously with MS,” he writes.

So far, €3,100 ($3,600) has been raised.
