Los Angeles-based model Kerrie McMahon's career has gone from strength to strength.

The Dubliner relocated to the west coast with her heart set on becoming a writer after graduating from an Irish university.

However, her plans changed as she was frequently scouted by model agents.

After three years building a name for herself in the Golden State, McMahon has landed her biggest break to date.

The former Miss Ireland contestant has been getting more work in the southern hemisphere, and will surely gain more popularity as she graces the June cover of popular Lads Mag, FHM.

"Having recovered from anorexia when I was younger, I learnt that to be kind to myself and others is the only way to be truly happy. Inner beauty will always shine through," the blonde beauty told Her.ie.

"It takes constant practice and strength to feel good enough as you are but it makes life far more enjoyable when you work on accepting yourself."

In an effort to help others, she penned a coming-of-age book titled 'Confessions of a Teenage Ballerina' inspired by her young adulthood struggles.
