As well as being an academic program, the Summer School also provides a look into the future visions of Belfast by engaging with local people and visiting a range of political, historical, and cultural sites.

Students will also experience a taste of life in Belfast, staying at the University’s accommodation which is just a 15-minute walk from Queen's main campus.

Queen's Summer School program:

Week 1: All students will take the core program ‘Belfast: Culture, Identity, History, and Politics’. After this introduction, you design your own summer school experience from our offering of two-week thematic strands.

Week 2 & 3: Build your own Summer School experience, choosing from a range of unique 2-week programs: Story, Irish Studies, Identity, and Intergroup Relations in Divided Societies, or Leadership.

US students can apply for funding for the Summer School through the US-UK Fulbright Commission. Their UK Summer Institutes program is aimed at US undergraduate students who have little or no travel experience outside North America. More information is available here.
