Dublin Airport has announced plans for 23 new food and drink outlets across its two terminals, including a number of big-name outlets such as Supermac's and Papa John's.

The new additions will bring the total number of food and drink outlets available to passengers at Dublin Airport to 42.

Several household brands are set to open outlets in Dublin Airport in the coming months, including Insomnia Coffee, Pret A Manger, Irish fast food chain Supermac's, and American pizza chain Papa John's.

Supermac's and Papa John's are set to open in Terminal 2 in a location previously occupied by Wright's of Howth

The overhaul of Dublin Airport's food and drink outlets also includes the addition of an international food hall in Terminal 1, introducing new Korean and Thai street food restaurants in addition to a new large Italian restaurant.

Meanwhile, a new Arthur Guinness Bar will also open in Terminal 1.

In addition to Pret A Manger and Insomnia Coffee, Terminal 1 will also welcome Cantina, a Mexican bar, and Bluebird Coffee Roasters. Street Kitchen, offering a variety of Mexican street food, will also open at the food hall in Terminal 1.

A new wine bar will also open on the site formerly occupied by Starbucks, which was discontinued in December 2023.

Terminal 2, on the other hand, will welcome Fitzgerald's Restaurant & Bar, which will offer a blend between a boutique hotel foyer and a classic club VIP lounge.

The restaurant is named after Desmond Fitzgerald, the architect responsible for the original design of Dublin Airport. The restaurant will take over the space currently occupied by the Oak Bar, while a new coffee shop named Roasted Notes Speciality Coffee will open in Terminal 2 in a site formerly occupied by Caffé Nero.

The improvements are set to be extended to the departure gates, with a new Cuan Cafe and Bar set to open at the 200 gates, while Lilian's Restaurant and Bar, named after aviation pioneer Lilian Bland, will open at the 300 gates.

Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) said existing outlets at the airport such as Butler's Chocolate Café, Burger King, and Jump Juice will also add to their presence at the airport.

Vincent Harrison, Chief Commercial and Development Officer at DAA, said in a statement that the airport group has "listened closely" to passengers about creating more choices at Dublin Airport.

"Passengers are in for a treat in 2024 with a whole host of exciting new additions and improvements to the already fantastic line-up of bars and eating places in Dublin Airport," Harrison said in a statement.

"These enhancements build on the many new outlets we have opened and improved in the terminals over recent years, which are going down very well with passengers.

"We've listened closely to passengers and have heard loud and clear that they want more choice, including more gluten-free options, and by working with our partners, we are going to offer them more variety than ever before.

"Passengers will soon be able to enjoy everything from Italian, Asian, and Mexican outlets through to loved local favorites and up-and-coming Irish brands."

The latest transformation of Dublin Airport's food and drink offerings is being carried out in partnership with KSG, Ireland's leading food services and hospitality specialist, and the internationally renowned operator Lagardère Travel Retail throughout 2024.

Work has already started on a number of units and will continue either side of the busy summer period, with more than half of the new and renovated units set to open by June.
