Ireland has been votes as the top destination for client satisfaction among tourists according to an annual travel awards ceremony in the U.S.
The WAVE awards, organised by TravelAge West magazine was attended by hundreds of travel experts recently in Beverly Hills, Calfornia. Travel Age is a leading traval and trade publication on the west coast.
“We are delighted that Ireland has been singled out for this award by TravelAge West," said Joe Byrne of Tourism Ireland.
"Tourism Ireland works closely with the travel trade across the US – online and traditional travel agents and tour operators – to encourage them to feature more Ireland holidays in their brochures and programmes and it is wonderful for us to know that Ireland has delivered exceptional experiences to their clients."

@Helen Ferone. You will love Doolin. I'm not sure if you are into traditional Irish music, but, having been there 10 times already, I think you may be. Anyway, Clare (and Doolin in particular) is known for having the best tradional Irish music - also ferries for the Aran islands leave from Doolin and you are super close to the Cliffs of Moher, all in all a good spot. If you want to be a little off the beaten path you should visit Kilkee (a beautiful beach town)and then take the coastal road from Kilkee back towards Loop Head.

I intended to go to Ireland one time, and am heading back in the fall for the 11th time. The people are just wonderful, the scenery beautiful, the food is homegrown in Ireland which makes it even better, and if you choose to go, take the back roads. I land in Shannon, and usually go to the Connemara area in Co. Galway, the Beaufort area in Co. Kerry (that gives me great access to Killarney and shopping, and this year I will go to Doolin, Co. Clare. Every year I say its my last, and mean it when I say it, but who knows? Next year I just might return. Do yourself a favor, and rent a cottage, use it as your home base, and enjoy yourself as I do.
