Why Sarah Palin could be president, family follies far less than Kennedy clan

I have to disagree with my fellow columnist Patrick Roberts when he says that Sarah Palin could never be president because of her family problems and 24-hour media gossip coverage.

Sure, as Roberts pointed out, Palin's Irish American mother filled her full of family values and her own kids do not seem to be learning the lesson.

But let's face it the Kennedy kids did not exactly listen to mother Rose Kennedy and they did pretty well despite that.

Indeed, there is nothing in Sarah Palin's family past that even remotely compares to some of the activities of the Kennedys at their height.

We all know human being are flawed and we put up this semi comical mask of really pretending to be shocked when famous kids step out of line.

Rudy Giuliani's daughter is just the latest to step in doo doo, after being caught shoplifting in New York.

Would it make me not vote for Rudy if I was inclined to?

No. I'm not electing Father of the Year here, but a politician.

Likewise with Palin , people will move on quickly form her family travails and judge her on her political talent which is clearly considerable given her rise from obscurity to the center of American dialogue.

She also has what very few American politicians enjoy -- an incredibly committed band of loyal supporters from coast to coast.

At a time when Americans are dangerously switched off politicians Palin adds an enthusiasm that could very well translate into a huge vote-getting capability.

She has already proved with her endorsements that she plays a major role with the Republican rank and file.

If the economy starts tanking again as some predict, a candidate like Palin with a clear message and solid following could start to do very well indeed.

As I have said here before I would not rule this woman out for anything.

Sorry, Patrick.

I don't think it's family shenanigans that might keep her from running as much as the family doesn't want her to run and drag them back into the political fray - the Kennedy's are/were a political family all the way through. Sarah says she's been discussing the matter with her family, but when she asked them if she should quit as governor, they gave an immediate and resounding affirmative - I quote: "in response to asking: "Want me to make a positive difference and fight for ALL our children's future from OUTSIDE the Governor's office?" It was four "yes's" and one "hell yeah!" The "hell yeah" sealed it". They didn't give such a reaction now or she'd have said "the most important people in my life, my family, backs me up, but I still have to consider [yada yada] before making my decision to run". Trust me - the family is happy being where they are - Sarah has done well to pull out of the mess (lamestream media hounding her, etc) and it would be selfish of her to go back. Personally I think she wouldn't be talking about running if Rove hadn't thrown down the glove by saying she wasn't qualified/couldn't win. After major midterm success, Sarah might be saying "I have proven I can, and will continue to do more for real Americans from outside the limits of political office" which she may still say at some point.
Fairly speaking, Sarah Palin is the hope of America. --------------------------------------------------- Why? If you look at the US dollar trend, you see a clear down trend. the dollar long-term depreciation trend will continue. this reflects the accumulated problems of the United States over the past four decades finally broke out in broad day light. The root of all problems are due to short-sightedness from the U.S. political leaders, from Obama to the Congress members, the utmost ambition is to meet the short-term interests and demands of the voters, from tax cuts or improve social welfare, is to lower interest rates and increasing debt to pay the way, so that once tasted the sweetness of the voters in exchange for votes and opportunities for re-election, yet over the increasingly heavy debt burden to the successor and future generations. Now the United States still have the courage and the will of politicians to solve the chronic problems facing the country: a huge debt, long-term social welfare can not afford, expensive medical costs, inefficient education system, the decline in the competitiveness of human resources, and structural high unemployment and so on. Purely to rely on issuing currency against the dollar and cover short-term need, not only can NOT solve the fundamental problem, but will lead to more serious consequences, such as the dollar lost the world's reserve currency status. Unless the short-sightedness of political leaders in the U.S. is completely changed and long-term vision of the leaders installed before the appearance of true recovery. Reviewing every resume of all current potencial leader, Sarah Palin appears to be only candidate for the president job because Obama does not have guts to risk/ruin his career that Sarah Palin seems to has. If a woman dares to go hunting, the she has the will to scarifies her everything. College degree does not matter here. Look at China, they are about to make someone with no degree to be president.
The current president is an idiot, no matter what school he went to.
So would you please post his gpa since your thorough search found that his school records aren't sealed. I for one could never find them as I have been told repeatedly all of his records are sealed....The Indonesian angle is interesting for the reason that I heard he claimed he was a foreign student in order to get special financial assistance through school, of course courtesy of the US taxpayer. But again that can't be confirmed or really denied because a giant legal wall was built around his past that dies not allow scrutiny of his past.
May I ask why you have turned this topic around to suit your own needs? I simply stated that Obama taught constitutional law in contrast to Palin's experience. As you suggested, I did a brief search of "Obama's school records" and found nothing in the first four hits that mentioned his records are sealed. It mentioned that he had an average undergrad experience and excelled in grad school. The only thing that stood out that I thought would catch YOUR interest was that he supposedly has an "Indonesian passport". But then the website that posted that is www.guncontrolkills.com. Go figure. You are looking for dirt and you will find it. Keep digging. In fact, dig all the down to CHina, come up through Siberia and wave.....Sarah might be having coffee on her back porch and see you and wave back!
You can lift a finger(the index) to find out about the current resident of the whitehouse. Show us that we are wrong and that his school records including grade point averages are available to us, just like every other president and presidential candidate has done. Even George Bushes transcripts were open for public viewing....Please google obamas school transcripts and publish his grades and links to his thesis and who/what paid for his education, just to quiet the naysayers....Especially the ones who say he received his education funding as a foreign student....You could certainly clear up a growing scandal.
I'm being honest, I don't know of any sealed education records. Probably because I don't listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck or Fox news. So I am curious as to what your source is? Seriously, is this all you got? George Bush deserved what he got...he was clueless and showed it every moment his mouth was open...so go take care of your bleeding ears....I'll wait cuz my 'bleedin' heart' tells me its the right thing to do.
Just when I was ready to unsubscribe to Irish Central, because of yesterday's article by Patrick Roberts, I am relieved to read what Niall O'Dowd has to say. I will stay "on board," for now. And, I can venture a guess as to what the dumbest of all Presidents is trying to hide...
Of course you haven't heard of obamas sealed school records because you don't want to know and you don't care anyway....because??? If it was George Bush doing something like that the cacophony from the left would make our ears bleed...btw: Sarah writes notes on the palm of her hand and considers herself a Jeffersonian. I guess that makes obama a marxist?
Who's the "fawner" now? That's kind of creepy information to know. I have not heard of anything about sealed education records so I cannot speak to it.
For your information Sarahs shoe size is a 7 1/2 and her favorite color is emerald, her lucky number is 11. Now I have answered some of your questions regarding Sarah, so indulge me and let me know why you think obama has sealed all of his school information from public scrutiny. No other president has done this, what do you think the "smartest of all presidents" is trying to hide?
Why are you blathering on about GPA's? Who asked anything about it? Do you know Sarah Palin's shoe size? Who cares? Palin cannot measure up to Obama's education and experience and you want to argue GPA's? YOu are very easily impressed.
I know you are an obama fawner so i figured you would know his grade point average in school since it seems all of his school records are sealed. Doesn't that make you a wee bit curious as to why all of his school records are sealed from public view? Unlike Sarah palins which are an open book. I thought I heard she had a masters in business administration.
Poor Monsoonman (or tia, I'm not sure which name is right to refer to you by...unless you mean "ta," as in "good-bye") -- so ignorant and lost in said ignorance, the fact that he or she is coming across as a fool is incomprehensible to him or her.
I never mentioned Obama's GPA at the schools he attended. I don't know that information. I commented on what he TAUGHT at U of C, which is quite impressive. Can't you read? Or you just make stuff up? That's a Palin supporter for ya. Do you have an answer for what Mrs. Palin majored in?
