Vicki Kennedy now likely to run for Scott Brown senate seat

Will Vicki Kennedy run for her late husband's seat after all now that she has moved back to Massachusetts?

My guess is she will. Kennedy family sources confirm this.

The Boston Herald revealed last week that Kennedy is moving into a penthouse overlooking Commonwealth Avenue after selling her Washington D.C. home.

Scott Brown is up for re-election in 2012 and Vicki has still not got over the fact that Teddy’s seat went to a Republican.

If she enters the race she would immediately eclipse all other candidates and would be a very strong contender against Brown who ha lost some of the sheen that accompanied his upset victory.

She would also have no problem raising money, tapping into her late husband’s amazing network which is still intact. That network did not come out for Martha Coakley but they would come out for Vicki.

As a New Orleans native it might have been just as easy for her to move back to the Big Easy.

But her move to Boston clearly sends a signal that there may well be a political future ahead .

Vicki will be guiding construction of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.But it is interesting that she will be the keynote speaker for the Action for Boston Community Development gala dinner on Oct. 29 - a key event for would be office holders.

Mass. deserves nothing better. Brown is a rino, you would think Mass. would be happy to let well enough alone. Mass. can have obama Jan. 2012.

maybe she could test the waters as a representative to aa, and find some of teddys friends? maybe the kopechnes would endorse her also? SHE IS JUST ANOTHER IDIOT DEMOCRAT WANTING TO SUCK AT THE PUBLIC TEAT.

As someone who actually LIVES in Massachusetts, I know of no animus towards Mrs. Kennedy. And Mary3222, a "slut?" That's pretty harsh, as is the murderer comment from Barbaracv. Listen: I wresteled with my consience a long time ago with Teddy. I did not vote for him for president in 1980, and most people acknowledge that Chappaquiddick cost him the presidency. I did vote for him for senator, though (several times) because of the work he did for this state. Will I vote for his widow? Oh, you better believe it!

What are her qualifications other than being related to the Kennedy's. I would worry about what happens in the 2010 elections and the way the country is going before thinging about running in 2012.

Mrs.Kennedy seems to be will qualified, despite not being Irish by birth, for the office of senator. She would not be the 1st wife of a Senator to be elected to that office. Scott Brown's bloom is fading.

After reading the posts -- no wonder Mass. is in such a bad state. You will only vote for the Irish. Kennedy was a murder, thief, cheat and you still voted for him. You would vote for his wife because her family LA is reviled and could not win there. So she moves to Mass. She likes the privilege and money. We the people will have to pay her bills. Sounds like she is not liked but she has the Kennedy name so that make her OK? ? ?

We Irish are all full of ourselves. But lets look at Scott Brown, nice family man, politician, but Vicki Kennedy should move into the seat the late Senator held, it is only right. He took care of Massachusetts, all the Kennedy's did. We all seem to dislike them because of their political ties. But we need politicans and why not one that has the depth of support Vicki would have which comes from Ted's legacy. Remember "if you are without sin you may cast the first stone". So don't bullshit this bullshitter we are all of the same ilk and because we are sinners we can't even bend down to pick up a stone. So vote for the people who have the knowledge, power and the inside tract to get things done. Ole Scottie has done nothing for this state. Remember they kept re-electing James Michael Curley even when he was in Jail.

Louisiana doesn't want her & she just doesn't want to come back to the Reggie family in Crowley. And I love the Lebanese reference, 'cause down here they all belong to "Lebanese" societies so they can marry off their children into Lebanese culture. Its such elite snobbery! The Reggies, the Cooks, the Stomas... and on and on and on.... I never believed the Kennedy children were that impressed with their step mother, although I believe she took good care of the senator, cause she loved the celeb. I guarantee she COULD NOT GET ELECTED IN HER HOME STATE. Her dad, the judge, nearly finished his life in jail for stealing from people - and the way he ran the bank he destroyed, was theft. So the Reggie-Kennedys should stay up there where the skeletons don't rattle.
