And then there was none? Republican senator Lindsay Graham seems certain to drop his support for comprehensive immigration reform just one day after he and Senator Charles Schumer of New York announced a new bipartisan approach.

Graham had been the only Republican senator willing to buck the odds and reach a bipartisan compromise on the issue. Now that seems in jeopardy.

Graham says the reason he is withdrawing because of the tactics Democrats are using to get health care passed in Congress. "The first casualty of the Democratic health care bill will be immigration reform. If the health care bill goes through this weekend, that will, in my view, pretty much kill any chance of immigration reform passing the Senate this year,” he stated.

However, insiders say the negative reaction from the Republican base to his work on the immigration issue issue is the real cause for the sudden about face. He has been called "Senator Grahamnesty" to his face in recent weeks and has been attacked strongly on the right wing.

Madeleine, if we would have only enforced our laws as written years ago we would not have this serious of a problem today. We have tried on several occasions to fix the borders, but because of politics and progressives having the main say in things right now they do not want this problem fixed, all they want is the Mexican vote. If there are 20m illegals here and half can vote what a prize that would be, think about it.
I think anything22 sounds to me to be another Lindsay Graham. If 22 is the age of this person I can understand the sentiment of his or her comments. But rather than having a plan B, it would be much better for them to obey our laws and come here legally like millions before have, if they cant do that then we should enforce our laws just like Mexico enforces theirs and deport them, and if they are felons put them in jail.
Throughout Americas history, there have been three large scale mass deportations of illegal aliens. In light of this fact, I think any illegal should have a firm plan 'B' in place and ready to implement: keep your belongings to a minimum keep your assets fluid be ready to be deported The massive grass roots movement indicate that the vast majority of Americans are profoundly against amnesty in are way, shape or form.
