Christine O'Donnell's victory in Delaware is the equivalent of the shot heard around the world.
It shows that Sarah Palin will gallop to the Republican nomination in two years if the current seething anger in the party of Lincoln continues.
Who will stop Palin now with the Republican right in such a fired up, throw the bums out mood?
Mitt Romney, not on your Nellie?
Newt Gingrich? Last century's man.
O'Donnell's victory is far more significant than that of Joe Miller in Alaska. It occurred in a blue state where moderate Republicans long held sway.
She deposed Michael Castle, the very epitome of the establishment Republican party, a long time moderate who seemed a perfect fit for the vacant senate seat.
Along with Sharon Angle's victory in Nevada, it shows that the Republican right wing is transcendent that no candidate is too extreme for them and that the party has lurched far more to the right than anyone believed.
Back home in Alaska Sarah Palin may well be measuring her prospects for 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue if this continues.
As I have written here before it could well happen.

The "mainstream" GOP will use the tea party and Sarah Palin to it's advantage and when they have no further use for them they will vilify and destroy them. Is Karl Rove the first crack in the marriage? who fears whom the most? Seen it all before.

Reference the post by Vincent13: There's no way that any sane person can compare two idioys like Palin and O'Donnell to Abraham Lincoln and James Madison. Abe and James must be turning over in their graves.

I hate to have my family name - O'Donnell - mentioned anywhere near this hideous woman McCain pulled out of the wilderness with her neanderthal thinking.

Ah, the teabaggers on this site are the gift that keeps on giving: Keep up yer bat-crazy ignorant racist paranoid rants because in the end most voters--DEMS and Repugs alike--will prove that the CONFIDENTLY STUPID of America will remain on fringe where they rightly belong.

Dear Mr. Roberts: Have you ever heard of "Observer Parallax", in which what a person seems to see is radically different from what is actually there due to his or her viewing position? It seems, kind sir, that you may be suffering from that malady. Sarah Palin and the other conservatives are not "extreme right", unless your American History book was written by the New York Times and covers only the last 10 years. Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell are mainstream conservatives, very much like Abraham Lincoln and James Madison. They only appear to be on the extreme right when one moves to the far extreme LEFT, where you appear to reside. I can understand your confusion. Ignorance does that to one.

Obviously, Republican voters across America are no longer taking their orders from the Neocon, country club, Republican Establishment with candidates typified by disasters like George W. Bush. Good for them. Power to the People! Let the voters decide in November---not CNN, MSNBC or Foxnews.

MSNBC reported last night that an exit poll of voters indicated that 44% of the people that cast ballots for Mike Castle will not vote for Christine O'Donnell in November. That's good news, as it means that not all Republicans have lost their minds, and all are not necessarily willing to get out their old, mildewed sheets and ride with the New Klan of the right: The Tea Party.
