The "hot mic" syndrome struck again when Senator Schumer exposed the callous attitude politicians have towards the future of our country. While the leadership is spending money like drunken sailors (sorry sailors) on shore leave, they give us the impression they are trying to restore fiscal sanity.

Before a conference call to be attended by Democrat leaders and the press, Schumer made sure they had their stories straight before the press got on the phones...Only problem is the press was already on, listening and recording every word.

His talking points relayed to his fellow Democratic senators were to tell the reporters that the GOP is refusing to negotiate. Schumer "told the group to make sure they label the GOP spending cuts as 'extreme.' "Because that is what the caucus (democrats) instructed me to do last week".

Never mind that we are borrowing money to run this bloated government, never mind we are heaping extraordinary debt on ourselves and our children and grandchildren....It's all about win baby!

Of course the Republicans ran with this and said it exposed the attitude of the democrats that" any cut in the budget was extreme" and the democrats want to shut the government down as it will make the Republicans look bad".

In the meantime, the guy that Obama charged with getting this budget together and working with both sides to find a budget solution, VP Joe Biden...is busy skiing in Aspen Colorado.

Lets stop the game playing and balance the budget. Because right now you are heaping so much debt that the next generations of Americans will be paying for the "services" that we are getting today.

The present political power structure in charge of our country, don't care what they do to the future, they only care about the next election, they are "economic child abusers" of the worst sort.

I am sure Biden was involved in the sensitive budget negotiations the whole time while he was on the slopes in aspen. He has EVERYTHING under control. Oh I feel so much better knowing we have such experts in charge of things....My only wish is if he would hurry up and solve the Japan Syndrome.

IN November, 2008, the government had committed to a staggering total of $8.5 trillion financial rescue initiatives. This was under the Bush administration. The entire total to date was around $10 trillion. It would have cost about 1.4 trillion to have paid off all the sub-prime mortgages that were in trouble. "Fuzzy math?"

Mman I have Devil's island under control I'm shipping the illegals to the Texan border and opening a country club on Christmas island,free membership and free grog,paid for by the taxpayer and save public money by deducting costs from the immigration budget.The air-condition rooms are already there(need a spruce up of course)I have also include free travel from the city of Saint Francis lol.

The republican idea of how to balance the budget is to create a budget crisis with two unpaid for wars and billions in tax breaks to the very wealthy then increase taxes on you and cut government programs for everyone. Nice! We have had just over two years with President Obama and the economy was beginning to turn around because of his fiscal responsibility. During the eight years with President GW Bush and republican fiscal irresponsibility, companies sent jobs overseas, deregulated Wall St. first set up the housing market for failure and then bet that it would fail, 400 people cornered over one-half of the nation's wealth, regulatory agency's professionals were fired and replaced by people from the industries they were regulating and we started two still unfinished wars costing the lives of our children and over a TRILLION DOLLARS that Bush refused to even count as part of the budget. Now republican governors are selling off state assets for pennies on the dollar to private firms and making it possible to even privatize your town or abolish it by their decree all while destroying the last group that speaks for the comman person - the Unions. It is time that people see who republicans really represent.

No one is against balancing the budget. The GOP mantra is their way or the highway Maybe you should show some balance in your blogs. Stick to the facts rather than chase the propaganda high ground.
