You know all those birds that have been falling out of the sky around the world? Do you know what's causing it to happen? If you replied that it was freak weather conditions, or fireworks, or over eating, or any number of the recent explanations put forth by scientists you'd be wrong - dead wrong.
It was actually the Senate's repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell that caused it.
That's right, according to a homegrown televangelist, God's angry. In fact, He's pissed. And if the bible teaches us one thing it's this: when God's angry things get smited.
I'm not sure why He'd choose to illustrate His wrath on innocent little birds, but if there's one thing we know about the biblical God it's that He's a symbolist, not a literalist.
But how do we know that it was the DADT repeal that set Him off?
Meet Cindy Jacobs of Generals International ministry. Famous for her fashion forward get-ups (purple leopard print jackets accented by wide polyester lapels and purple pearls?) she's not afraid to offer outlandish opinions whilst wearing equally outlandish get-ups.
But I have learned to mistrust prophets who play to our worst instincts, rather than our best ones. I have learned to mistrust prophets who appeal to our suspicions rather than our hopes.
And perhaps worst of all, I mistrust prophets who encourage us to believe that other people are really much more sinful than we are ourselves - because, when you think about it, what reason do actually we have to believe that?
If you want to know why gay kids are bullied, and why gay teenagers despair, and why gay adults are treated like second class citizens in their own country, then you don't need to look further than Cindy Jacobs. She answers a modern dilemma (dying birds) with the scientific principals of the fourth century B.C.
Whatever is killing these poor birds, I'm pretty sure its not the angry words of an angry deity. I'm also pretty sure that Jacob's ridiculous prophecies stigmatize young gay people across this nation.
And if there's one thing we've learned this week it's this: there is a dangerous connection between intolerant words and intolerant deeds.

Ironically, the story of the cause of the birds dying and the responsibility for the tragedy in Arizona ARE strongly linked.
With the repeal of DADT, thousands of deranged people (at least morally so) will legally begin carrying arms!

Fortunately, the Tea Party is organizing a peaceful gathering designed to keep this left wing nut job away from the mourners.

If intolerant words did not lead to the Arizona shooting, the intolerant are none the less claiming credit for it. Westboro Baptist Church members are planning to picket the Tucson funerals. These fanatics claim to be the revenge of God upon the unGodly, and they have no intention of backing off from their inflammatory words, threats of violence, and violence itself. They plan to picket tomorrow's funeral of the 9-year-old girl killed by Loughner. They've set up "cross hairs" and put the gun in God's own hand. On their website you'll find these words addressed to her parents: "You ruined that child and put her in the cross hairs of a raging mad God!! You raised her in the Catholic Pedophile Monster-- priests rape children!! You taught her idolatry all of her life, inside and outside of that whorehouse that you call a church." Next they plan to picket the funeral of Federal Judge John M. Roll. "God sent the shooter and your federal judge is dead!.... Praise God for His Righteous Judgements!" They promise "Immediate (no longer imminent) destruction": "and you [Congresswoman Giffords] are to blame! You have raised a bunch of violent freaks and you are reaping what you have sown! God sent the shooter! OBEY or PERISH!" Their godhatesfags page still proudly displays its "Hit List." "Right" or "Left" don't matter, but the connection between intolerant words and violent deeds IS frighteningly obvious.

The birds died due to a government microwave test. Only Red Winged blackbirds were tested with the designated frequency that affected their cranium. All of those towers are not just there as phone relays...

OMG. I'm not sure who is the worst-this lady or Cahir. What a waste of electronic space and then to end it with suggesting that intolerant words led to the shooting in Arizona when we have a pure crazy at large. Next thing he will do is suggest that the right was somehow responsible for the Oklahoma federal building bombing and 9/11. This is a writer Irish Central should remove from its staff.

This woman is an idiot. I wish the media wouldn't give her any attention at all, only fuels the fire of stupidity.
