1. You're Irish -- enough said.

2. It is on at 7.a.m.

3.Frosty Queen and Prince Philip nattering on about how wonderful it is --remember how they treated Diana.

4. US anchors gushing over royal couple and forgetting we are an independent republic.

5. Because it is not really a fairy tale --last three big royal weddings Diana, Anne, Andrew ended in divorce.

6. Because it isn't really meaningful -- no power other than opening every charity fete from here to Kingdom come.

7. Billions in cost to beleaguered British taxpayer.

8. Flood nonsense written after wedding about greatest day ever in history of civilization.

9. 'B' list celebrities, English style, worse than their American equivalents.

10. So much ado about nothing as Shakespeare might have said -- now there is a great Englishman.

Kate: I find the British are very restrained in their flagwaving habits. As I travel around Ireland I see nothing but seas of all sorts of flags showing local or county support for every little tuppenny-halfpenny football or hurling match that's going on! Even my own old place is in the "Banner County"(Clare). And you should be proud of the Union Flag (Btw: never 'Jack' unless it is flying from the 'Jack-staff' at the stern of a marine vessel);as it still incorporates the Cross of Saint Patrick to represent the whole of Ireland! Funny old world, innit?
I didn't watch the royal wedding but caught a glimpse of her dress on the news (dress fab. I think the British are an insecure race they have to wave a flag for every occasion. Here in Ireland we wait until somebody has achieved something and then wave the flags and give them a right welcome home
@ancavker -Tony Blair and Gordon Brown are no longer prim minsters. in case you hadn't noticed. David Cameron and Nick Clegg were there as Leaders of the Government.
2. it was not on at 7 a.m. it started at 11 a.m. BST. how dare they organize the wedding when tis inconvenient for the yanks to watch, and on a friday as well. what do they think they are playing at. 3. dianna was not quite as pure as all that.numerous affairs. 4americans gush over everything. 5 america has the highest rate of divorce in the world. 6 what gives you the right to say its not meaningful. 7 bit of an exaggeration. I'm glad your not doing the budget.
I am Irish and British
I wish them well. Mabey he will free Ireland.
Instead of the newlyweds riding off in a carriage, they can just get on the backs of Prince Charles and Camilla--after all, both of them look like a couple of horses!
Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were not invited, major slight, and just shows how petty the royal family is.
I agree with some of the statements; spending so much money when the people are struggling just shows how out of touch they are. However, I do think this one might last. Maybe they learned from the way they treated Diana.
Git over it. Let the Brits have their fun. Actually, it takes us away, briefly, from all the sad happenings around the world !! So there !!
As an American with Irish ancestry, I plan on watching every minute because I like to see other people's weddings, especially the fashion part of them. Life is too short to have nasty feelings over a WEDDING. It's very unChristian to demean and belittle this couple's wedding just because they're British and Protestant. This list sounds like sour grapes. If the British people want to support a monarchy, that's their business. Good Luck and Best Wishes to William & Kate.
Why shout we comment about it, the wedding is not important at all, He, (William) is neither a King nor a Prince of Wales, and Miss Middleton is low middle class girl, so what is the big deal. However, the English working classes a looking forward to a royal wedding in order to organise street parties again, which is part of their social culture hence their excitement about the wedding, well, good luck to them.
By the way, FallsRNat, number 1 IS relevant. I'm Irish and wouldn't have wasted my time watching Diana Spencer marry Charles had I been born at the time, and I WON'T be wasting my time watching this "royal" wedding. For anyone other than an Englishman or woman to watch a TV broadcast of this one, is simply gammy!
2ADVENTURE needs to do some studying. William Shakespeare was not born in Italy. Even though his date of birth is unknown, his baptism was recorded as April 26, 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England.
Thank you for this!!! Was waiting for a good way to say it myself!!
