Ryan Reynolds Photo Gallery Probably one of the biggest celebrity splits of 2010, most people were surprised to hear the news that Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson are splitting up.
In a statement the couple said: "After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
One of Hollywood’s hottest couples, 26-year-old Johansson started dating Reynolds (34) in March 2007, the tied the knot in September the following year.
Breaking the news of the split on Tuesday, a source told U.S.Magazine.com, that Johansson had initiated the split.
"The big problem with their relationship is the distance," according to a source. "They spent a lot of time apart when they are working...She's been unhappy for a while."
Reynolds was recently voted Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.
