Lucy Lawless leads massive anti-mining protest

Lucy Lawless is not just fighting on screen as warrior 'Xena' or in the mini series 'Spartacus'

She has just led a massive protest organized by Greenpeace to stop mining on protected land in her native New Zealand.

Central Auckland was flooded with crowds as 40,000 protesters, the biggest demonstration in 40 years in New Zealand, marched.

Stopping strip mining is a passion for Lawless born Lucille Francis Ryan in 1968.

The sheer size of the demonstration, helped no doubt by Lawless taking part, took police by total surprise.

Central Auckland was at a standstill as the coalition of politicians, celebrities, environmentalists and the public demanded a halt to mining in protected areas.

Lawless said the the march brought back memories of huge demonstrations of 25 years ago.


"This reminds me of the late 80s, after the Rainbow Warrior bombing, back when there was class consciousness."

She said was particularly concerned about the effects of coal-mining: "To take carbon out of the ground and burn it, when we know about climate change, is immoral."

Lucy with her overt Liberalism again :{ ... Maybe some of our loyal Tee Party’s affiliates over hear might get a good chance to go and bash her a few : ) ,.. If they could get around those security persons that are hiding nearby her that are protecting her big ass liberal mouth and fanny,.

Oh.... Boy is she gotten ugly.. can hardly beleave she was once miss, NZ at one time on top of playing Xena,. age hasn't done her a favior. LMAO :)

The auld adage is still as true as when windmills were first invented: You can make windmills from steel, but you can't make steel with windmills. That about sums it up. When you scratch below the logic surface of these protesters, they just never think things through, or read beyond the script so to speak.

Lucy did an awesome job with the march and is very informed, intelligent, dedicated, and incredibly sexy and beautiful. She marched so sexily, "Yeah right sexy coal!" I Love Lucy so much Forever. :)

OK...She should have kept her mouth shut and not admitted she was a kool aid drinking algore acolyte. Hypocrite gore just bough an ocean front mansion in Cali and from what I was told it guzzles more energy(carbon) than 100 homes.
