The 'Best I Ever Had' hitmaker was repeatedly targeted by actress, who is set to be released from involuntary psychiatric hold on Friday, on Twitter in recent months and received dozens of messages from her account calling him "ugly", but he isn't convinced she was behind all of the posts.

The 26-year-old rapper told the August issue of XXL magazine: "I don't even know who is doing that or what that's about. If that is her, I guess it's a little weird and disturbing."

He added: "It's obviously a behavioral pattern that is way bigger than me. Whoever is behind it, whether it's her or somebody else, they know people are paying attention so they keep it going."

The 27-year-old actress apologized to Drake in June and insisted she wanted to be his friend after writing: "Drake has the ugliest smile, ugly gums uneven teeth ugly eyes."

But she also previously suggested she had a huge crush on the rapper in March, tweeting: "I want Drake to murder my vagina," as well as referring to him as "hot fellow" and "gorgeous."

Amanda was hospitalised on July 22 after starting a small fire outside a stranger's home in a residential area of Los Angeles.

The 'Easy A' star was denied her request to be released from hospital last week.

Her parents Lynn and Rick have filed documents seeking a conservatorship that would give them legal control of the actress until she gets her life back on track.

A hearing will take place on Friday.
