"American Idol" runner-up who shot to fame on the show last season said his comments in the UK's Gay Times last month were "a bit harsher" than he meant.

Lambert, who has admitted he is not a big fan of "Britain's Got Talent" runner-up, SuBo, told the magazine he couldn't understand how her album had reached number one in the UK.

He said: 'If only it weren't for Susan Boyle! I'm happy for her success, but that album is terrible. Wild Horses is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it, I was crying with laughter.

'It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song!'

However, after Lambert came up fire for his not-so-nice comments, he has apologized and told The Herald Sun in Australia,

'It came across a bit harsher than how it actually went down. But I'm not a fan of the record, it wasn't a lie.'

Although we're fans of you here at IrishCentral.com Adam, SuBo is our woman - even if every now and then we give her a bit of a slagging- so in future be mindful of her. Thanks!

Lambert is entitled to his opinion. However, he has no tact. You don't go around demeaning another artist's work who put her heart and soul into her CD and then call it laughable. Lambert has a lot to learn about life. He won't have many friends if he doesn't change his attitude.

@belfastjames, They're not buying his CD and he sure has a sob story so that didn't so him much good, did it? It kills the egotistical creep that he was outsold about 15 to 1 by a middle aged lady from Scotland. No matter what she thought of him, she'd never criticize him or anyone else because she has class. She didn't need to lower herself to his level.

It is high time Adam began acting his age. He is of course entitled to his opinion. However, for him to rudely demean another performers work, especially one who outsold him 100 to one, is both childish and ill advised.

Well Boyle's album is PANTS. Just because it sells millions does not mean that its fantastic. People are buying it for the voice and her story. Pants and crap

Would be interesting to know what SuBo would say about his shrieking excuse for a successful (NOT) album...When he sells 9 million as she did, he might have a bit more room to ridicule and demean as he has done.
