There's something very sexy about matted, messy, tangled hair. I know they say a man should be able to run his fingers through your hair, but after a shot of 'Dust It' or whatever your mattifying poison, it's unlikely that he would get very far. So what. It looks impossibly beautiful and suggests a care free, relaxed attitude that makes up for it's squeeky feel!
All my favourite beauty icons have hair that looks lived-in and loved. Almost like vintage clothing, there's a bit of a story there, a days worth of lessons and laughs and, if you're lucky, a little tumble! The more worn and fluffy, unkempt and scruffy the more attractive as far as I'm concerned. Think Alison Mosshart, Charlotte Gainsborough, Mary Kate Olsen, even Alexa Chung; it doesn't matter if they're dolled up to the nines in Valentino they look very touchable and low maintainance-always a good thing!

Summer is a coming and it's a color drenched love boat but don't wait that long to get wet.
Just because it's still Baltic out, doesn't mean you need to dress like a 'Twilight' extra.
So, it's 2012. Whether or not we'll make it to the end of it as movies and crazy's suggest is a conversation for a different day but while we're here we may as well make the best of it. And you can't do that without a notebook. Seriously! It's a non negotiable and one of the many things I collect... There's nothing as fulfilling as writing in a fresh notebook or diary; the feel, the promise, the sparkling white pages. It's like being back at school where the best part of a new term was the smell of the books.
Whether it's a 'to-do' list or a set of goals, a meeting reminder or your deepest darkest thoughts, a notebook is utterly personal. Like choosing a man, you should pick one that you love, not something to impress your mates. I'm a leather kind of chick and prefer things that are a little classic rather than faddish although I did once have a notebook with a picture of a gorgeous, dirty Irish fry-up-I loved bringing it to model castings!
If you're looking for the creme, check out Smythson. Quintessentially English, no editor worth her salt would be seen without one of these monogrammed bad boys. Their celebrity fan list includes Hollywoods A-list and Britain's monarchy!
Ok, it's not that legible but this gold chain says "Divil" as in "He's a harmless oul divil" or "Jesus, that one's an awful divil"!
Anyway, it's gold plated in graffiti style writing on a gold-plated chain and it's deadly. I'm debating whether to buy it for someone or just keep it for myself!! Do you like? Tell me on TWITTER.
I've been a huge fan of Tim Ryan since I first set eyes on his wonderful pieces. They are truly breathtaking and you can only really appreciate just how special they are when you try them on. I'm not a 'girly girl,' I prefer tailoring and slouchy t-shirts but when I wear Tim's pieces (I have two) I feel utterly feminine and otherworldly, ladylike even which is a rarity! He is so talented and has managed to keep his feet firmly on the ground despite, ahem, gushing fans! Everyone from Kate Moss to Lily Allen and Cheryl Cole are collectors of the label. Read an interview I did with Tim for Grazia here .
It's that time of year again, and although a Chanel handbag is really what I want, sometimes dreams don't come true! Not to put a dampener on things, there are lots of other luscious goodies out there that I could happily play with come the 25th. Here are some of my favorites. Notepads at the ready…
Emé Vandal leather necklace with hair pendant
A quirky yet sophisticated piece that really captures a romantic vision of old Ireland with a funky contemporary design. It’s also super versatile, making it an ideal accessory for any outfit – whether you are going for the minimalistic look or are dressing to impress this is rocking!
. I'm really quite fabulous and you'll love my accent so feel free to call me for anything that may involve a trip back to my beloved New York.
