GAA: Paul Galvin is fit and available for selection when Kerry take on Limerick in the Munster SFC semifinal on Sunday after he proved his fitness in a club game with Finuge last weekend.
 
Defender Stephen Lucey is a big doubt for Limerick, however, after he picked up a hamstring injury in a challenge game for the county hurling team against Galway last Saturday.
 
Limerick are already without star midfielder John Galvin for the rest of the year.
 
HURLING: Ger Farragher is Galway’s latest injury doubt ahead of Saturday night’s Leinster SHC quarterfinal against Westmeath in Mullingar after he injured his knee in a club game. Joe Canning should be fit to face the Lake County, but full-back Ciaran O’Donovan and Iarla Tannian are both out and Damien Hayes is a major doubt. 
 
GAA: Sligo defender Keelan Crawley is to emigrate to America for the summer and will miss the All-Ireland qualifiers.
 
GOLF: Shane Lowry finished in a tie for fourth place in the lucrative BMW PGA championship, won by new world number one Luke Donald at Wentworth on Sunday.
 
RUGBY: Connacht could look for permission from the GAA to play their Heineken Cup games at McHale Park in Castlebar or Pearse Stadium in Salthill next season.
 
ATHLETICS: Olympic hammer thrower Eileen O’Keeffe has been forced to retire from athletics after a long battle with a knee injury.
 
CYCLING: Lithuania’s Gediminas Bagdonas from the Sean Kelly team has won the 2011 An Post Ras title. 
 
CRICKET: Ireland were twice beaten by Pakistan in one day internationals in Belfast over the weekend.
 
RUGBY LEAGUE: Mark Aston is the new head coach of the Irish rugby league team.
 
SOCCER: The Irish under-19 side beat Italy 3-0 on Sunday to qualify for the UEFA European Championship Finals in Romania this July.
 
SOCCER: First Division Waterford United sacked manager Stephen Henderson after the 1-0 home defeat to Monaghan United.
