All-Ireland winning boss Liam Sheedy believes his former Tipperary charges will bounce back as championship contenders in 2013.

Sheedy is confident new boss Eamon O’Shea, a selector when he guided Tipp to the MacCarthy Cup, will revive the Premier County.

Sheedy said, “The role won’t make any difference to Eamon. He’s excellent at what he does. Eamon has the skill to do any job. He’ll build a really good rapport with the players.

“You have to remember Tipperary won back-to-back Munster titles and this year just didn’t play for 25 minutes against Kilkenny. Up to then, Tipp were right up there, I don’t see a crisis or anything like that.

“When I was there, we had three people involved with the team -- myself, Eamon and Michael Ryan. But we never looked at ourselves as managers, coaches or selectors per se. We just came together and did all we could do for the team.

“Eamon has excellent back-up as well in Paudie O’Neill as coach and then Michael Ryan as selector.

“They’ll bring a huge amount to the team. As a Tipperary man, I’d be really looking forward to 2013.”
