Rory McIlroy within two shots of Tiger Woods at PGA championship
Rory McIlroy is just two shots behind Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh at the PGA championship, the last major of the season.
McIlroy shot a 75 on Friday as the course at Kiawah Island off South Carolina played very tough.
Behind McIlroy, Graeme McDowell was four shots behind and Padraig Harrington is a further two shots back six off the lead.
Tiger Woods in a share of the lead is the hot favorite to win his first major since 2008.
McIlroy looked in trouble early in his round with two bogeys in the first seven holes, but he steadied himself over the final nine holes and remains just two shots behind the leaders.
He was pleased with his score.
"It could have been a couple shots better, of course, but I limited the damage as much as I could, and I'm in a good position going into the weekend, so I can't really ask for more."
