North Carolina won the NCAA Championship on Monday night.

In the national championships game on Monday night, the Tar Heels were just too good for Michigan and won their first championship since taking the title in 2005.

North Carolina flew out of the blocks and raced in to a double-digit lead they would not surrender over the course of the game.  Michigan missed too many opportunities to close the gap early, and though they battled on in the second half, the result was never in doubt.

The final score was 89-72.
