Tiger Woods

Limerick business magnate JP McManus is confident Tiger Woods will play his July pro-am.

Woods has been a regular participant in the JP McManus Invitational Golf Pro-Am in Adare, County Limerick and is good friends with McManus.

The two met each other at the Masters In Augusta a few weeks back.

“I told Tiger 18 months ago about the tournament and he said he would be there and I haven’t heard differently so I take it he’ll be there,” McManus said at a reception in Limerick to fete his first win at the Aintree Grand National with Don’t Push It.

The two-day event takes place at the picturesque Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort on July 5 and 6, with “Four Weddings and A Funeral” star Hugh Grant confirmed to play.

Actors/golf nuts Samuel L Jackson of "Pulp Fiction" fame and "Desperate Housewives" star Kyle MacLachlan are also set to tee off.
