There have been other tragic murders of Irish teenagers since the killing of the Colleen Bawn in 1819. The dead victim's of Derry's Bloody Sunday includs 6 who were aged 17 and one aged 19. Within 5½ months of the Bloody Sunday massacre, on 9 uly, 1972, 3 Irish children were killed by British soldiers in the Springfield section of Belfast: John Dougal (16), David McCafferty (15) anf Margret Gargan (13). Those Irish Children should also be remembered as well as the Cailín Bán.
