Gaelic Girls TV took to the streets of Dublin to find an answer to the question “Is it true that all Irish men are really Momma’s boys?”

The results were wide and varied from “not true at all” to “definitely”.

Out on the streets of Dublin, our Gaelic Girl, Lauren, questions young women about their past dating experiences with Irish men and Irish Mammies about their beloved sons. Gaelic Girls TV even tracks down some Americans to get their point of view.

Even daring to take on the question of whether Irish boys date girls who look like their mothers, Gaelic Girls TV gets some hilarious and surprising answers to this week’s question.

There appears to be an interesting correlation between the degree that tribalism may still be informing a culture and the height of the pedestal that some families in those cultures appear to place under their sons.

I'm not sure that "Mammy's boy" describes it exactly. I don't think that Irish mothers are that demonstrative but any Irish girl can certainly agree that their brothers are treated different. Women have no one to blame but themselves for creating this. It's a wonder that Ireland doesn't have more sunny days with the sun shining out of all the lads as**s! LOL

Jesus I have 8 brothers and when we were younger they were treated like royalty, but now were older its me my mother looks to, my Dad God Bless him still says to this day he should have had 9 girls instead.

How do we know that Jesus was Irish? Because He lived with His mother until he was 33 years old. Most of his drinking buddies were male (even if that Magdala girl did distract Him). He though His mother was a virgin, and she thought her son was God. Answer: Yes! All Irish men are Momma's boys. So girls, take it up with you future mother in law.

Ha ha, my Irish born and raised mother always sided with the daughters-in-law. She did, however, often use a phrase along these lines: "Mrs. MCGraw and her 5 kids." Any Mrs. McGraw in question had four kids and a husband.

All I know is that when we were kids, up to the time my dad passed away, when we went to my grandmother's home, we were NOT allowed to have any "eats" or tea until my father was served first. This strange and unusual practice has been passed down in our family. My brothers have always been served first and my own daughter complains that I treat my sons like gods. Go figure! However--my daughter is my true princess!
