Olympic gold medallist, European and Commonwealth champion, Victoria Pendleton who launched this year's Cycle4haiti

The Burren in Somerville has organized an amateur comedy night to raise funds for the Soul of Haiti and your support would be greatly appreciated. James Casey, President of a USA division of Irish owned LotusWorks organization, based in Medford, MA, will travel to Ireland and take to his bike to participate in the 220km Cycle4Haiti event in May.

The annual Cycle4Haiti event, now in its fourth year, takes place over the weekend of the 4th and 5th May 2013 in Ireland. The cycle aims to raise over €120,000 for the Soul of Haiti Foundation which has been working in Haiti since 2007. Monies raised to date have been utilized in orphanages and the development of fishing villages in Haiti.

James Casey comments “This is an opportunity to give something back to those we will never meet but it’s also a personal challenge for me, we aim to cycle 220km over 2 days. I’m not a cyclist so it will be a great achievement to complete the cycle. Those who have participated in previous years have detailed the fun and sense of accomplishment felt by completing the cycle distance but also from the fundraising they do. I hope I can do my piece and cross that finish line”

James, will be one of the LotusWorks team of cyclists who will join approximately 250 cyclists and travel from Sligo to Galway over two days. The amateur comedy fundraiser has been arranged at The Burren, Somervile on April 28th from 5pm-7pm. It should prove to be hugely entertaining. Bring friends and family and come along to support this truly worthy cause. James will be accompanied by ten other amateur comedians to keep the craic going on the night.
