I dropped my friends off in Dublin for a flight to Barcelona and it ended up being very late when I finally left Dublin to get down to South Carlow.

This was before GPS so I got lost, very lost!!!

I had no idea where I was. I finally came to this little town called Boolavogue and the only thing I know about Boolavogue was the song that my Grandad used to sing all the time.

There wasn't a soul in sight anywhere to ask for directions but I did see a pub that had a light on. I knew full well they weren't open as it was about 2:00 in the morning but I pulled over anyway, on the chance someone might be in there.

To my surprise, the door opened right away and when I walked in, there were about three or four lads huddled at the end of the bar and they looked like they got the shock of their lives as they probably thought it was the Gardaí.

I said, "Hi fellas, sorry to bother you but would any of you know how I could get to New Ross?" (It's the closest town to where we lived that they might know.)

And, without skipping a beat, one of the fellas stands up and says "Well now, if that isn't the most coincidence in the world! It just so happens that I am going to New Ross this very minute!"

And then we all roared out laughing, the kind of laughing that goes on and on.

They asked me to stay and have a drink, which, in hindsight, I probably should have but it was very late and I was driving so I headed out but I just couldn't get over how quick Irish people are with the humor.
