Friends and supporters of Irish nanny Aisling McCarthy-Brady, who is currently in Framingham Correctional Center awaiting trial for the murder of a Cambridge child under her care, recently arranged a benefit to put towards her canteen in prison.
The event in the form of an outdoor music gig was held in the House of Ireland, Somerville on Saturday the 15th June. A total of $1000 was raised and will be sent to her canteen account in 10 monthly installments of $100 each.
Due to her illegal status, Aisling is being held without bail. Her case in Middlesex Supreme Court does not come up until April of 2014 which means Aisling will have spent one year and three months in jail by then.
Aisling has at all times proclaimed her innocence and those close to her know how much she loved the baby she is being accused of murdering. She is devastated and her segregation in Framingham has made matters worse, she is not coping very well.
Aisling’s friends and supporters would like to thank all those who turned up at the House of Ireland on Saturday night to show their support. They wish to thank Meath singer/songwriter Paddy Saul for providing the entertainment on the night and also want to thank the many local businesses for their support.
A great night was had by all and Aisling should have a moment of happiness knowing that there are many people out there who really care about her and cannot wait till she has her day in court where she will get the opportunity to prove her innocence.
