A Celtic Crossing 2013

On Saturday night March 2nd, 7:30 p.m. at the newly re- opened Norwood Theater, a brilliant cast of singers and dancers will join local singer Pauline Wells as they kick off a celebration of Boston’s Irish heritage and the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day holiday for 2013.
Anyone who has attended any of Pauline’s concerts can appreciate the inspiration and emotion each appearance brings. The 2013 production of “A Celtic Crossing” will showcase traditional Irish music and well highlight contemporary Irish, Country and some Rock and Roll.
One of Boston’s finest Irish bands DEVRI, featuring, Declan Houton, Larry Flint, Chuck Parish, Steve O’Callaghan, Martin McPhilemy, and Caroline O’Shea will rouse the night.

Pauline, supported by DEVRI has hosted nearly a dozen concerts, from Boston’s Wilbur Theater to the Blue Ocean Music Hall, raising needed dollars for many charities, including Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund, Military Veterans, Foster Children, and many others. Next week they embark for a second year upon Andy Cooney’s “Cruise of Irish Stars.”
In the music community, Pauline is described by many as a “heartfelt and inspiring singer,” who will move you to tears and then in the turn of an eye, have you stomping your feet!

A Cambridge Police Lieutenant, it is her work supporting the Jimmy Fund that conceived the first production of “A Celtic Crossing” in 2006.

Joining them as a featured guest for the first time, is Dublin native and Cape Cod resident, masterful fiddle player, Mr. Patsy Whelan.

This year’s creation will offer meaningful tributes in honor of many children who have been affected by cancer as well as special tributes to the “children of Newtown Conn.”

Finally, this concert will feature musicians of the Comhaltus Ceoltoiri Boston. In October of 2012, Comhaltus lost one of their most inspirational and talented members, Mr. Larry Reynolds. Larry has left a legacy of Irish music that will live on for years in the New England Region.

Also joining this excellent cast of musicians will be expressive dancers of the O ’Dwyer School of Irish Dance. Finally, a very good friend and MC for the night will be longtime radio host, WROL’s Matt O’Donnell, celebrating 25 years broadcasting on the Irish Hit Parade.

“A Celtic Crossing “promises to be a marvelous occasion for a very worthy cause. Tickets are $25.00 and available at by going to the Norwood Theater website: www.norwoodstage.com
