Minka Kelly was just voted the "sexiest woman alive" but her interview with Esquire magazine didn't just reveal the former "Friday Night Lights" actresses beauty, in the now internationally famous photo shoot. They also revealed more personal details.

Before launching her modelling career Kelly worked as a surgeon's assistant. She also had who some might consider a difficult childhood yet she remembers it with fondness.

She told Esquire "My mom lived a fast life...It was all about what we could do to have fun with nothing. For most of my life, she was a dancer. An exotic dancer. She was a stripper."

"Sometimes she would have a really great night, and so she would wake me up in the middle of the night and we'd go to Ralphs and go grocery shopping...And that was so much fun. We'd have the whole grocery store to ourselves, and we would have a blast and buy a hundred dollars in groceries. And it was just the best day ever. The best day."

"My mom could add an egg to anything and make it better...She'd say, 'Nothing for dinner? Watch this.' And she would cook [Top Ramen instant noodles], add whatever vegetables were in the freezer, drop a raw egg in so it cooked in the hot broth — dinner."

While dinning with the interview from Esquire they also noted that she went out of her way to thank the restaurant staff. Apparently Derek Jeter noticed Kelly's impeccable good manners too.

She said "My boyfriend noticed that about me, too...He's the same way, and he said it was a good way to judge someone's character."

Kelly (30) and her boyfriend, Derek Jeter, shortstop for the New York Yankees, began dating in 2008. Earlier this year, Jeter's hometown newspaper,  The New York Post, reported that the pair would be getting married this year.

NBC sports blogs have reported that the rumors of a wedding are incorrect and the wedding is actually being planned for Kelly's sister. However Sports Illustrated have said that all the rumors are true. It's going to be one of the biggest weddings of the year. Right up there with Chelsea Clinton's, upstate New York wedding.
