Sharon Osbourne is now eating humble pie over her nasty remarks about Susan Boyle that created a media firestorm -- but it did not stop her from repeating her slurs.

"I didn't want to hurt her at all. Yes, I do think she looks like a slapped arse, and she has been hit with the ugly stick, but she's laughing all the way to the bloody bank, so she's got the last laugh on me, " she told the Daily Telegraph.

"I do regret saying that because she is not the sort of woman to counter me, so it's not fair, but somebody asked me in public and I went for it – foot in mouth."

In her defense, Osbourne claims she has the hide of a rhino. "If you give it out you have to expect to get it back. I do think that people should say what they feel more, because otherwise it festers and you get an infection.

"I don't play by the rules, and I've got into trouble because of that, but I can't help it. Life is too short to pretend to be something you're not. I am what I am: a loose cannon and an absolute bloody nutter, but basically I'm a good person and if I'm your friend, I'm your friend for life.

"In my eyes all this," she says talking about her wealth, "is a bonus, of course, but people think that you have to play the game to continue to work, and sometimes I don't want to play the game. Of course, I do say things occasionally and then think 'oh s––t – why did I have to say that?' "

'I have no idea of how I am perceived by the public."

She also opened up on her love for her husband despite the fact that he once tried to strangle her, and talked movingly about how he took care of her when she battled cancer.

"I love Ozzy and deeply respect him for everything that's he has done. He slept in a chair by the side of my bed for 18 months. He was scared that if he closed his eyes for a moment, I would be dead when he opened them. He would carry me to the bathroom when I wet myself because of the medication, then shower me and put me back to bed. When my hair was falling out he would pick it out of my food: there was no disgust there, because he loves me unconditionally, just as I do him."
