Lindsay Lohan

The 26-year-old actress - who has already refused to accept a pre-trial deal of either 60 days in rehab or 45 days in jail by prosecutors after being charged with lying to police about a car accident in California last summer - is reportedly unwilling to accept any kind of punishment for the crime.

A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the 'Liz & Dick' star doesn't want to accept the offer of house arrest instead of rehab from the Santa Monica City Attorney and the Los Angeles City Attorney despite being encouraged to do so by her lawyer Mark Heller, who has assured prosecutors that she will accept a certain amount of time confined to her home.

But sources close to the troubled starlet say that she is adamant that she will not accept any punishment and that there is still a huge chance that the case will go to trial on March 18th.

While her lawyer is confident he can make a deal with prosecutors, Lindsay was previously said to be eager to go ahead with the trial, even though multiple witnesses, including the passenger in her car will testify she was driving when she hit a cement truck on the Pacific Coast Highway last June.

The insider added: "Lindsay is ready to go to trial. She has always wanted to face a jury of her peers, and feels confident she will be acquitted. Lindsay has nothing to hide."

Even if the former 'Mean Girls' star is acquitted, she could still go to jail for up to 245 days for violating her probation, which she has been on since July 2011 after being found guilty of stealing a necklace.
