'The Canyons' star, who completed 90 days of court-ordered treatment in rehab at the end of July and recently insisted it changed her life for the better, has sparked concern after being photographed hanging out with hotel magnate Vikram Chatwal, who was allegedly caught with heroin and other drugs in April.

The duo spent the day shopping in New York, according to gossip website TMZ.com. Lindsay recently insisted she had cut most of old friends, whom she deemed to be bad influences, out of her life in a bid to stay sober but was snapped looking happy and relaxed in Vikram's company, despite reports he was busted trying to board a plane with cocaine, weed, heroin and prescription pills earlier this year.

The 41-year-old businessman, who has allegedly been to rehab at least four times since 2009, is said to have struck a plea deal with prosecutors to avoid jail by agreeing to complete a year of in-patient treatment in rehab.

The 27-year-old actress, who is currently filming a documentary series for Oprah's channel, OWN, recently said she is willing to do whatever it takes to stay clean, after admitting she had a problem with alcohol.

She said: "I feel whole again and I have such a desire to want to keep this feeling and stay this way, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes."
