Reports released from the Los Angeles County Coroner's office this morning (Thursday), said that actress Brittany Murphy died as a result of a "drug intake" leading to pneumonia.

Conditions adding to Murphy's death were an "iron deficiency anemia" and "multiple drug intoxication."

The husband and mother of actress Brittany Murphy who died in December were interviewed by the LA County Coroner's office in the actress's home yesterday (Wednesday).

According to Perez Hilton, pathologists went to speak with Simon Monjack, the late actress's husband and her mother, Sharon Murphy relating to Murphy's untimely death.

Hilton said a man who worked in the actress's home witnessed someone drop off an envelope addressed to "Lola" that was full of prescriptions every Friday. According to the source when Murphy, 32, was away on location, the envelope would be mailed to her there.

The pathologists apparently had a number of questions for Murphy's next of kin including why she didn't see a doctor leading up to her death as she was rumoured to have been experiencing abdominal pain days before her death.
