A white supremacist in north California has been convicted of killing a child molester, his former prison cellmate and roommate.

Charles Francis Gaskins (48) was charged with 26 years in prison for the murder of Neil Lee Hayes (66) at his home in 2009. Gaskin’s wife Sandra Sheaves (43), who has been charged as an accessory, will be released in two months.

Gaskin was a member of the white supremacist prison group called the Peckerwoods. The group’s members were required to attack anyone who had a history of child molestation, the Sacramento Bee reported.

Hayes and Gaskin met at the Deuel Vocational Institution near Tracy, CA. When Hayes was released from prison he moved in with Gaskin and his wife Sheaves at their Carmichael home.

According to the court reports, on or about June 30, 2009 Sheaves told Gaskin that she had done some research about Hayes online and discovered that Hayes was a registered sex offender on the Megan’s Law website.

Gaskin took a rock and beat Hayes to death. He and his wife later disposed of the body but not before they drove to Lake Tahoe to enjoy some gambling.

Superior Court Judge Sharon A. Lueras sent Gaskins to prison on Friday with no comment but she had more to say to Sheaves, who has a Masters in Psychology. The judge pointed out that Sheaves instigated the attack by showing Gaskins this information.

Hayes’s brother John submitted a statement about his loss. He said, “My brother Neil was a good man.

“Somewhere he went wrong. We tried numerous times to help him. He would do good for a bit, then go back to the same lifestyle."

Gaskins and Sheaves, John said, "broke God's law, Thou Shalt Not Kill. Their reward awaits them."
