A Texan science teacher and married mother of two, has been jailed for having sex multiple times with one of her 18-year-old students.

Rachelle Nicole Heenan had an affair with her teenage student for several months until her colleagues tipped off people about the relationship.

The 34-year-old struck up a friendship with her student at Hollenstein Career and Technology Centre in Fort Worth and began texting him.

According to CBS Local News the pair met up outside the local gym in March, when the relationship turned physical. They later checked into a hotel in Fort Worth where they had sex for the first time.
After rumors began circulating in their school, officials began investigating the claims.

The forensic science teacher was suspended in May. She was officially arrested last Thursday evening.

Sergeant Pedro Criado, with Fort Worth police said, “School officials began hearing rumors that were circulating in the school and became suspicious.”

“They ended up cooperating with the Fort Worth School Initiative Officer assigned to the school.”
Criado explained that the relationship escalated from the initial texts.

He said, “Ultimately the victim and the suspect met each other in the parking lot of a private gym in Fort Worth, held conversations inside the vehicle, and ultimately led to kissing.”

“The victim met the suspect at a local hotel in Fort Worth and they eventually had sex for the first time,” Criado said. They did have sex after that, I believe multiple times.”

Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District spokeswoman Kristin Courtney said, “Ms. Heenan was placed on paid administrative leave on May 21 after district officials learned of the allegations.”

She added, “The district has no reason to believe multiple students were involved.”

Heenan was arrested and charged with Improper Relationship between Educator/Student. She is free on $10,000 bond. She could face up to 20 years in prison.

According to the school’s website, Heenan is married and has two children.
