An airport security worker has been removed from baggage screening after he left a note with sexual overtones in a lady’s baggage at Newark's Liberty International Airport.

Jill Filipovic made the headlines this week, when she tweeted on Monday that someone had left a note in her bag, which contained a sex toy, saying "get your freak on".  The blogger and attorney, based in New York, had discovered the note when she arrived at her destination in Dublin. The note had been written on Transportation Security Administration (TSA) notice of inspection form, leading her to believe it had been written by someone at airport security.

TSA said on its blog on Tuesday that it had conducted an investigation into the matter and had removed the employee that was responsible from duty.

"That individual was immediately removed from screening operations and appropriate disciplinary action has been initiated," the agency wrote.

"The handwritten note was highly inappropriate and unprofessional, and TSA has zero tolerance for this type of behavior."

“Agency officials have also reached out to the passenger to personally apologize for this unfortunate incident,” they added.

Later, tweeting about the attention the note had drawn, Filipovic said: "Lesson learned: Don't tweet anything you don't want to appear on The View. #FML”.
