Nazi plot to invade Ireland revealed

Several sites planned for invasion

If Nazi's had one the Battle of Britain, Ireland would have been invaded.

If the Nazi invasion of Britain had been successful, Ireland would have been invaded, it has been revealed.

Details of the Irish invasion were recently released by the National Archives in Britain.

The just-published MI5 file shows that Ireland was definitely targeted for a Nazi landing if the German Air Force, the Luftwaffe, had won the Battle of Britain.

The plan, which would have involved the main landing of German shock troops at Dover, was called off when the Royal Air Force defeated the German air onslaught.

Ireland's inclusion is revealed in a post-war debriefing of a German soldier, Cpl Werner Janowski, who worked for the German intelligence service, the Abwehr.

"Janowski states that it was planned that landings would be attempted at several points along the English coast, in Scotland and in southern Ireland but the main attack would be centred around the Dover area," according to the file.

The file also revealed that German shock troops wearing Allied uniforms would make the initial landings in Dover and Ireland and hold key locations before the main invasion force arrived across the channel.

This was discussed several weeks ago. Why resurrect it - but if it has to be, then it should include the earlier comments. For anyone who is interested, according to a recent tv prog. the Irish were officially neutral during the war, but behind the scenes, helped the allies.
Well, one good thing, the Church and the Gestapo could have merged.
What a pathetic statement from father Pat. Despite injustices and bias, the UK eventually, in the 1800s, made the rule of law the norm in Ireland. Yes, they threw the rule of law out in how they dealt with the north, but under British Rule of Law the Irish Land League, the IRB, and the Constitutional Nationalists were able to develop the pride and guts it took for the Irish to see themselves as a separate nation entitled to sovereignty. During the Irish War of Independence the Irish combatants, including my parents, acted against only UK military and police, and used non-violent action to drive out remaining abusive landlords. ... There would have been no rule of law under the creepy, perverse, and hate-filled Nazis. You shame the Irish with your comments.
In invading the Republic of Ireland Ireland, why would the Nazi troops wear Allied Uniforms? Ireland was not in the war and Allied troops were not quartered in southern Ireland. Surely these uniforms would not have served to disguise the invaders. A lot of fishiness in this story. Sounds like Nazi trash talk rather than formulated plans.
Would the NAZIS have been worse for the Irish that the Britlanders?
There's still time. Maybe next war.
I suppose both sides had contingency plans re.Ireland They would have if they could have ,irrelevancy is the key word here. God! someone would have to infuse the argument(or confuse)dragging in Islam to make a stupid point.
& does this file &/or others state who were the English and Irish Nazi collaborators/sympathizers who were on the Nazis' payroll ? do we wait another 65 yrs for that info?
Interesting, especially considering that the Germans didn't have the military capability to invade England, and didn't even want to attempt it. Last month I saw a documentary on the air battle of Britain, which the Germans lost. It featured an interview with Luftwaffe ace Adolf Galland, who said that Hitler met with him and another leading pilot and told them that the battle with the English was a diversion for Germany's planned attack on Russia.
I hope everyone else can see similarities between the Nazis and radical Islam. The "reconquista" occured in 1492 and Ferdinand and Isabella sent Columbus. Therefore, National Socialism happened because of problems with the "age" while Islam used the sword since about 500 A.D.
Ach de lieber.......
The Anglo-Sagons got to Ireland first, Way ahead of their Saxon cousins. They love invading the weaker races
