New poll finds Fianna Fail leader Micheál Martin most popular leader in Ireland
Also shows growth in support for Fianna Fail
The Sunday Times/Behaviour & Attitudes poll has found that leader of Fianna Fail Micheál Martin is currently the most popular leader in Ireland, just ahead of Taoiseach Enda Kenny. The survey also found that support has grown for Fianna Fail.
The Journal.ie reports on the outcome of the phone survey conducted by The Sunday Times/Behavior & Attitudes between November 1st and 13th. A total of 951 eligible voters were surveyed for the November poll.
The poll found that for the polling period, Micheál Martin, leader of Fianna Fail, is the most popular leader in Ireland, claiming 42 percent in the satisfaction poll. He narrowly edged out Taoiseach Enda Kenny, who received a close 41 percent. Gerry Adams, leader of Sinn Fein, received 40 percent satisfaction.
All three of those party leaders received a slight bump in their satisfaction ratings as compared with the same September poll.
The rate of satisfaction with the government also rose slightly to 26 percent, a two percent jump from the September survey.
However, although the satisfaction rate for the government went up, satisfaction with its individual parties dipped slightly. Fine Gael fell one point to 30 percent, and Labour fell one point to 10 percent satisfaction.
While Fianna Fail’s satisfaction rate is still lower than Fine Gael, it is the only political party that saw a rise in its satisfaction rate. From the September poll, Fianna Fail rose from 18 percent to 23 percent, making it the second most popular political party at the moment.
