You've gotta love the local newspapers in Ireland. Take last Thursday’s Larne Times which blasted the front page headline “Brad Pitt Film Scares My Chickens,” with a story about Pitt’s flick The Lost City of Z which has been on location in Co. Antrim and apparently scaring the life out of the local fowl.

The action film has plenty of explosions, and the loud bangs and fires are upsetting the animals.

“The explosions shook the house and windows and the boom echoed through the glen. My neighbor’s horses were in the field near the film set and they went spare, trying to jump the ditches,” said one local, Jason McKillion, in Ballygally.

“On Wednesday, there was another explosion and my animals went daft. The chickens were squawking and the dog was outside, barking and shaking.”

The residents aren’t demanding that Pitt and co. take a hike, but they say they would have appreciated a warning about the disruption.

“If we had a schedule, we could put the animals into barns. At the minute we are on tenterhooks,” McKillion said.

The film stars Robert Pattinson, Charlie Hunnam and Sienna Miller, and is due in cinemas next year.
