Influential gay Irish Americans have once again be noted for their contribution to society in OUT Magazine’s 7th annual ‘Power List’.
For the second year running Apple CEO Tim Cook tops the list this year, which celebrates gay men and women “whose power and prestige is instrumental in influencing the way Americans think about, and engage with, the world.”
The list, compiled by the gay magazine, is a cross section of personalities from the world of politics, business and Hollywood.
TV personality Ellen DeGeneres is joined by “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy and actor Neil Patrick Harris on the annual Power List.
“It’s hard to believe that it ever seemed exceptional to have a lesbian hosting a daytime TV show, but Ellen was a pioneer whose sheer force of charisma, wit, and charm has earned her an enduring place in the affections of America,” OUT states.
New York mayoral hopeful Christine Quinn came in at number 20 on the list.
The Irish American, whose Grandmother was a Titanic survivor, is the current as a frontrunner in the Democratic Party.
OUT reports, “She may have officially announced her bid to become mayor of New York City just this March, but in reality she’s been running for years, as one of the most visible and open lesbian politicians in America.”
‘Glee’ star Jane Lynch also made the coveted list again this year.
