Three days after the tragic death of soul hip-hop singer Amy Winehouse celebrity tributes continue to roll in huge names such as U2, Mark Ronson, Tony Bennett, MIA, Russell Brand and others.

Playing a "360 Tour" gig in Minneapolis U2 acknowledged Winehouse's passing by dedicating "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" to the singer. Bono said "We wrote this next song for Michael Hutchence, but you will understand tonight if we play it for Amy Winehouse."

Star of "Get Him to the Greek" and "Arthur" Russell Brand published a tribute to his friend on his website.

Also a former addict Brand wrote about the universal arc of addiction. He said "When you love someone who suffers from the disease of addiction you await the phone call. There will be a phone call. The sincere hope is that the call will be from the addict themselves, telling you they’ve had enough, that they’re ready to stop, ready to try something new. Of course though, you fear the other call, the sad nocturnal chime from a friend or relative telling you it’s too late, she’s gone.”

Writing about his friend's career he said "She wasn’t just some hapless wannabe, yet another pissed up nit who was never gonna make it, nor was she even a ten-a-penny-chanteuse enjoying her fifteen minutes…She was a f—ing genius.”

Legendary singer Tony Bennett had recently recorded the song "Body and Soul" with Winehouse. He paid tribute to the London star saying "She was an extraordinary musician with a rare intuition as a vocalist and I am truly devastated that her exceptional talent has come to such an early end
“When we recorded together, she gave a soulful and extraordinary performance,” he said. “I was honored to have the opportunity to sing with her.”

“It had been my sincere hope that she would be able to overcome the issues she was battling and I send my deepest sympathy to her father Mitchell, her entire family and all of those who loved her,” Bennett said.

Rapper M.I.A.  released a new track for in honor of Winehouse called "27" (see below).  She tweeted "I recorded this song B4 vickileekx and never put it out. It's a unfinished demo. R.I.P Amy.' She dedicated it to "my friends who died at 27."

Also on Twitter Mark Ronson, who collaborated with Winehouse on the smash hit "Valerie" and also her album "Back to Black" said "She was my musical soulmate and like a sister to me. This is one of the saddest days of my life."

Fellow "Back to Black" producer Salaam Remi tweeted: "I didn't hear a gunshot... I don't see any blood, but I feel a deep pain in my heart. A part of me died today. RIP."

Singer Lily Allen said news of Winehouse's death was "beyond sad," adding: "she was such a lost soul, may she rest in peace."
