Two American men are being held on indecency charges in connection to the death of Irish woman Nicola Furlong, at a Tokyo hotel last week.

Furlong (21) was murdered on Wednesday night. She was sexually assaulted and strangled at the hotel after she a friend went to see US rapper, Nicki Minaj, in concert.

James “King Tight” Jamari Blackston (23), a dancer, and another 19-year-old musician were arrested on suspicion of molesting Furlong’s friend in the taxi on the way to the hotel.

They are also being questioned in relation to Furlong’s death.

The Irish Independent reports that King Tight’s Twitter (@kingtightbucc20 ) and MySpace accounts have been shut down since his arrest.

The dancer reportedly served as a dancer for Omarion and Marques Houston in Osaka. He has also appeared in music videos for Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, and J. Lo.

It is believed that Furlong and her friend met the two men at the concert and came back to the hotel together.

Japanese media have reported that other guests at the hotel complained about loud noises from their room at 3.20am. An employee went to their room and found Furlong lying near the bed on the floor.

In a statement released by the Tokyo police, they said, “These two men allegedly took advantage of a female unable to resist due to the fact she was in a comatose state from a highly alcoholic beverage.

"On a taxi ride between Shibuya and Shinjuku, they took advantage of a woman by touching her body.

"As that is an indecent act, they have been charged with quasi forcible indecency."

The police said Furlong’s friend is still in Japan and has been joined by her family. They said, “She is in Tokyo and she is very shocked but her family has arrived in Japan and her mother is with her now."

Furlong’s family has released a statement. They are devastated by the loss. They said, “Nicola was a warm, generous, stunning person who always had time for her family and other people.

“Nicola will always be at the centre of our lives. She stood for everything that is good in life.”

Furlong, a Dublin City University (DCU) student, was an exchange student in Japan. She was studying at the Takasaki City University of Economics in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, about 60 miles north-west of Tokyo.

Her body will be repatriated today and is expected to arrive in Ireland by Thursday. She is likely to be laid to rest in her native Curracloe, County Wexford, next weekend. Her family has asked for privacy.

Bobbi ...No I would not have sobered up in Ireland because I didn't have the support . The friends I met here are both Irish and American, African American and Europeans who helped me through my problem with alcohol. It's ok to ask for help here as they have the resources and an open mind which lacks very much in Ireland. Did you ever think why so many young Irish commit sucide? I am not naive sweetheart! All the best to you.
i think we need to hear the full story on this. depending on what paper you read the story changes. in one article they say the girls met the guys, went to dinner with them and voluntarily went back to the hotel room. in this story it makes it sound like date rape drugs were used and they werent fully conscious or with it in the car, yet noone found it odd that the girls went to the rooms with them? If they were conscious in the taxi and assaulted theres no way the girls would have gone to the room so they were either drugged or the taxi event reported here isnt correct. Until there is a full report from the other girl on the course of events, its hard to know how this all came down. it wont change the death of one girl but hopefully it resolves the different reports out there that dont add up and whoever did what does time for it. makes us all more conscious to stay alert, be careful who you drink with and don't let your drink out of your sight so noone can slip any crap into it.
that's legal
Irishgale please read your first comment then your second, my point is you say your husband think the irish socialise to much and spend to much time in the pub, yet i say they do the same in the UK and US also. You say in your first comment you do not think you would have sobbered up in ireland, sounds like a personnel problem to me. When you got to the states you must have met friends that do not go to pubs, you could have done the exact same in ireland sweetheart if you had friends like i do that do not go to pubs. People in the states go to the pub and stay at home and get pissed. Depends on your social life and were you live, in ireland you got pissed, in the states you did not. Many people in the states get pissed and many dont its a social thing. I was in Philadelphia once and it is rife with drugs and drunks it is one of the worse cities in the states with social problems. You both must live with blinkers on. I think as a culture so many Americans are out of control with illegal drugs like crack and crystal meth and leagal drugs like alcohol. Get real sweetheart and dont be so naive.
Bobby and Michael83. Didn't get to finish what I was trying to share. My point is when under the influence one is not themselves and totally out of reality and no one sees anything wrong with it especially when everyone else iin a bar is the same way.The two men who approached these two very young and innocent women knew exactly what they were at and should get jailed for life. It's not ok for these lads tontake advantage of two innocent girls and then offer more alcohol to take total advantage. I dont need to know what race, color these lads are because it happens everywhere even in Ireland. Bobby...this is not a competition here between US, UK or IRL and who has the worse reputation for drinking and drugging the most....I am glad to hear that alcohol consumtion is down in the last 3 years in Irl it's about time. I live in Philadelphia and sure there is plenty of same going on here and again no competition. Michael83. I do not practice any religion since catholic beliefs were forced upon me in Ireland as a little girl. I prefer to call myself a spiritual person and each choose ones own religion. I was just trying to make the point that being under the influence in any way can alter our common senses and advantage will be taken, regardless if you are in Tokyo, US, UK, IRL or any where in the world. I just don't want to see other young Irish girls or lads think being abroad and having a good time and leaving down their guard is always safe. That is all I am trying to say. This is not a safe world and you just can't trust everyone unfortunately.
For all you racists out there, the rap artist these girls went to see was a woman.
bogside, spot on.
HT/NYCSheridan! You're impugning the integrity of a whole gender because of the base instincts of a miniscule few. Include me out. Sadly, young women of that age are highly susceptible to so called rap artists, which tends to be exploited. Sadly, such rap artists have the orals of alley cats, and tend to think with their penises. Listen to rap lyrics. They tend to be poisonous and hate filled, racists, sexist and just about every other -ist you can imagine. Black man's revenge for white exploitation, I fear.
I think the "accused" men would prefer to be called Two African-American, street-smart, Rap Artists. At least that's exactly what they are. The Irish girls appeared to be innocents abroad. Let this be a warning to all the women out and about in strange settings. There are some cultures that are taught it's OK to prey on others. Let your eyes take in the situation and then let your instincts and some common sense push the alarm button. Sterotyping is not an exact science, but it's a lot more effective than the Liberal "anti-racist" screamers would have you believe.
The two girls never should have spoken to the strangers, let alone get into a taxi with them and/or invite them to their hotel room. Better safe than sorry.
Cillowen, get real! Where was drink a problem here. The problem was two men with little morals taken advantage of two girls who were enjoying a student exchange trip with a college. I think we have a forum full of socialist, statist Prohibitionists! The world is indeed sick!
Well hermittalker is definitely an extreme Christian "nonsense" nut! What has alcohol got to do with this? This girl was not an alcohol abuser. The religious equation that people look for these sort of things when drinking is complete "Vatican" nonsense. Why don't people like hermitalker ans irishlegalperson not follow the real causes of this instead of listening to archaic teachings from the most corrupt organisation ever to grace our world-yes the Vatican!
Re Irislegalperson What are you on about? You seem to be saying that her drinking was part of the cause of this. If you bothered reading the full story you would understand that this girl was far from "out-of-control" and abusing drink. Are you one of them extreme Christian nuts?
Irishgal take a trip to miami south beach you will see drunks to the extreme, i was in the city 2 week ago and south beach was on police lockdown because of all the violence and drunks. A man had his face mauled by another man in the city this week. Then you have a major crystal meth problem in almost every state. Your husband should open his eyes a bit more at home. I travelled across the states many times, from NY, Boston, L.A, S.F, Phoenix and many more. People do drink to the extreme and the drug problem, well i wont get into that. Alcohol is a problem in Ireland as it is in the UK and the US. Alcohol consumption is down in ireland the last 3 years. Lets hope it continues. I wish we could teach all the American kids to stop with the crystal meth, its a demon drug. I hope it never makes it to our shores.
Condolences to Nicola Furlongs family. Your pain must be unbearable as no parent should have to bury a child, and sister and in such circumstances. I am a woman in my early fifties and when I was Nicolas age I was drinking and out of control. I ended up in many dangerous situations and very lucky I wasn't raped or killed while in Ireland and in US. I was very often in a black out and very seldom toward the end of my drinking days did I remember anything after the second drink. I am sober today thanks to wonderful friends in the US. I really don't think I would have sobered up in Ireland as drink is like a god along witht Irish football and hurling. I feel as a culture we are so out of control when it comes to alcohol. When I go home to Ireland I am surrounded with people trying to shove drink down my throat. When I say" no thank you, I will have a coffee "I am laughed at and a shake of the head. My husband who is from US think Irish people waste too much time in the bar and unable to understand why such a smart and intelligent culture drinknso much. I wish we could teach our young Irish lads and girls that alcohol is just as bad as all the other narcotics out there. It gives false courage, out of reality confidence, lead to terrible bouts of depression and is anything but attractive in man or woman. Today I look back at my life while drinking as a disgusting part of my life because though I was a good girl, nice person, good morals while sober I completely changed when I was under the influence of alcohol. I lost all my morals, thought
